Nirmala Retreat is set amongst lush green rice fields with views of sacred Mt Agung on the island of Bali. We are only four minutes drive from downtown Ubud but will feel like a world away. It will take you 1- 1.5h drive from the Denpasar airport.

Filipa Veiga

Filipa has been living with her family in Ubud, Bali, for the past 3 years and visiting the island since more then a decade, so you can enjoy Bali with a true Bali expert and insider. Filipa knows the island as few European understanding how to overcome the natural differences and give you the inside tips for your best stay in Bali.

A former dancer, Filipa began her Ashtanga Yoga practice as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Lisbon in 2004. Since then, she engaged in variant forms of yoga during her travels to India for further research into the practice with her teacher Paramaguru R. Sharath Jois, the grandson of Pattabhi Jois.

Filipa has been teaching for the past 5 years, specially in the the Yoga Meca, Ubud, in Bali and in Portugal. As an international yoga teacher, her aim is to inspire as many people as possible to live healthy and happy lives by implementing the practice of yoga and eat healthy nourishing food.

Studying Ayurveda since some years, both in India and America, has given her a medicinal approach of the practice of yoga. She also gives Ayurvedic life-style consultations that help each individual to understand the guide lines how to live healthy and complete.

Filipa feels blessed to share her life and yoga practice in her blog yoga-me (filipaveiga.blogspot.com). This blog recently gave origin to a book in Portuguese with the same title.

Filipa lives between Bali and Portugal where she dedicates her life inspiring people to transform their lives throw the yoga teaching regular classes, gives workshops and retreats.

Silvia Stojanovic

Yoga mum / Motivational Speaker, Dharma Evoker, Yoga Teacher (500h).

Born in Germany and grew up between Germany, Greece and Serbia. Silvia is a very dedicated yoga practitioner for over 10 years who believes that within each student lies a vast wellspring of love and potential, and it’s her job as a teacher to bring that out.

Saturday Morning

Filipa will Introduce you to Ashtanga Yoga practice!

Students will get to know and experience the first section of the Ashtanga Yoga sequence in an introductory and available manner.

This is a supportive class and will give the opportunity to flow, breath, and sweat while experiencing the method taught in the tradition of Sri K Pattabhi Jois. We will focus on alignment so the practice can evolve in a safe and healthy way while experiencing the benefits of the Primary Series, known as Yoga Chikitsa, or Yoga Therapy.

A perfect class for beginners to try the method as well as for more advanced students to deepen their knowledge.

Saturday Midday

Sharada will introduce you to Ritual, Vedic Mantra Chanting and Sanskrit (the ancient Yogi Language)

Prayers, Rituals and Ceremonies give meaning to our lives. Living our days prayerfully, consciously and alert helps us to get out of mechanical and unconscious behavior.

Life is a sacred restaurant; we can invoke the highest, spiritual fulfillment, happiness, and freedom from pain. We are worthy of sacred mutual honoring relationships, abundance, fearlessness and fulfillment in life. Bringing in prayers, devotion and gratitude into every aspect of our actions will change one’s life view quickly and will allow the heart to rest in trust and acceptance of what is. Through a simple yet so profound action with a few offerings to the grace factor in our lives, we ritualize our life, converting life into an offering.

We will together look into the aspects of altar and worship, and learn a few steps of a traditional Vedic Ritual – a Puja.

Grounding, Walking and Breathing Free!

Beta will lead you into a journey back to your body, to the earth to your human existence. You will work on the feet, opening the plantar fascia to stabilise a better connection to the earth and your blueprinting (ancestors). With exercises to open, to release and to establish a connection with your feet and the ground.

Then working on the fascial bends of the ilium – psoas and diaphragm muscles you will be led towards an emotional and physical trauma release in order to diminish the damage caused by the constant stress mode, fight or flight reflex and adrenal fatigue, a common syndrome nowadays.

Mysore Style

Self practice for the ones familiar with the system. In this class, you practice the Ashtanga sequencing at your own pace, while receiving personal guidance from the teacher.

For those new to the practice we will guide you based on a step by step approach so at the end of the workshop you will have a basic structured practice to continue at home.

Open to the fundamental breath and movement patterns of the Ashtanga system, while introducing the subtle techniques of bandha and dristhi.

This is an introduction into Dharma & Vedanta; The Value of Values and The teaching of the Truth.

Dharma is a moral ethical value system that applies to all people, at all times and at all places. If I want happiness relatively or absolutely, I have no choice, I have to follow Dharma, a mature yogi lives his/her life based on dharma, certain attitudes based on Bhagavad Gita and pursuing knowledge of him/herself.

Vedanta is an independent means of knowledge that reveals that our essential nature is whole, complete and free from all limitations. A sacred mirror in words revealing the un-negatable truth of one non-dual limitless being here and now. This is worthy to discover because it frees our hearts from fear, pain and suffering turning it into trust, love, compassion and gratitude for all that is.

A Journey Throughout Our Chakra System

Are energy centers within the human body that help to regulate all its processes, from organ function to to the immune system and emotions. We can commonly count 7 chakras positioned throughout the body, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.

Here we will bring your awareness to each chakra, chanting mantras, using Myofascial release balls, and yin postures to rebalance each centre.

We will take you in a journey throughout the emotional and physical aspects of each centre.

The Teachers

Filipa Veiga

A former dancer, Filipa Veiga started Ashtanga Yoga practice, as traditionally taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, in Lisbon, in 2004. A forever devoted student, Filipa goes every year to Mysore, in India, to study with her Guru R. Sharath Jois, at the KPJAYI.

She has been learning meditation and chanting sessions with her teachers in Mysore and Bali and is studying Ayurveda in the Vedic University. Certified by the Yoga Alliance UK, Filipa has been practicing for more than 10 years and working as a yoga teacher for the past 5 giving classes in Portugal and Ubud, Bali. Filipa inspires people with her writings in her blog «yoga-me» (filipaveiga.blogpsot.com) and has recently published a book with the same name.

Sharada

Almost 15 years ago Sharada’s spiritual journey started with her love for Yoga, followed by Indian Classical Odissi Dance. 9 years ago She moved to Ubud, Bali, Indonesia where she spent the last years studying, teaching and living in a spiritual community under the guidance of her revered teacher, who is a living monk, imparting the knowledge that frees our hearts from suffering – Vedanta. In 2014 she was a student of the 3.5 years residential course of Vedanta, Sanskrit and Vedic Chanting with Shree Swami Dayananda in India. She is also a student of Shree Radhaji, a Vedantin, Meditation teacher and Jungian Psychologist. Today She is a devoted teacher of Vedanta, Sanskrit, Vedic Chanting, Meditation and Puja, leading Vedic ceremonies and Women’s Devi Circles in Bali and Europe. She also teaches online and brings people on sacred journeys to India.

Beta Lisboa

Beta’s approach is all focusing on physical and emotional trauma release, and improving long-lasting wellness for Body & Mind. She is well known for her expertise in guiding people through Body and Mind integration processes, with a unique combination of all or some elements of her training programs (Yin Fascial Yoga, Myofascial Release, Mindfulness and Vital Essence Trauma Release Breathwork). Her approach is personal, thorough, deep, individualised, life changing and is suited to people who are curious and ready for transformation in their lives.
